Citing the sometimes-difficult financial balance for parents in frontline health care and teaching careers, an anonymous donor is supporting childcare and summer camp costs for Wheeler Health employees.

National Prevention Week (NPW) 2024, reflecting the theme “A Celebration of Possibility,” happens May 12 – 18, 2024. Connecticut will mark this observance in a number of ways, including a special event at the Connecticut Science Center on May 18, from 11 am to 3 pm.

This month, as part of National Foster Care Month, Brooklyn Baking Company, 464 Reidville Drive, Waterbury, is selling a special version of its well-loved donut decorated in blue to mark the observance.

Wheeler is One of 384 Health Care Facilities Nationwide, and Only Community Health Center in Connecticut, to Earn the “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader” Designation.

May is National Foster Care Month, an annual observance to recognize and support children, youth, and families in the foster care system.
