2023 Hispanic Heritage Month Visibility Campaign: Zuleima Hernandez
September 15-October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. Throughout the month we will also spotlight our Hispanic staff through our Visibility Campaign. Today’s spotlight goes to Zuleima Hernandez.
Zuleima Hernandez, MA, is one of our medical assistants, who has over 15 years of experience in the medical field. She helps patients navigate through difficult times, cares about their well being, and enjoys helping make their days better. Zuleima was born in Puerto Rico and moved to CT 28 years ago. She has 3 children and 4 grandchildren, who are her pride and joy. In her spare time, she loves doing crafts and sharing time with my family.
What does this year's theme, Latinos: Driving Prosperity, Power, and Progress in America, mean to you? Progress in America has been a gift. I have been able to build a professional career, help my children, my grandchildren, and my patients. I am able to show others what progress looks like by helping others find a better state of health. Living in America I have been able to take advantage of many opportunities to build a career and a family.
Thank you for sharing, Zuleima!
